That seemed fair enough, but my insurance companies legal department said that this prevented them from acting to recover the other costs. Very happy! She tried to bully us into another 12 months rent upfront agreement, hence we gave notice and moved out. The landlord demanded almost £300 of my deposit to pay for a contractor to reset/turn off a smoke alarm in my kitchen when it went off after 5.30pm. Dishonest landlords suck!! I have only had one experience with the dispute service but I must say, it was a very positive one.Our rogue landlord tried to find us a hefty dum of £500, which was totally unreasonable and inflated to suit her redecoration desires.
